Wood plastic systems

WOPAS is the new alternative for power-, tele- and marine poles.

About

WOPAS AS is an international start-up established in 2016 based in Ål, Hallingdal, Norway.

WOPAS focuses on the opportunities presented by combining the material properties of wood and polyethylene into Wood Plastic Systems. This results in products that are exceptionally environmentally friendly, climate-conscious, and durable.

The primary market includes infrastructure products, poles, and piles for power transmission, lighting, railways, agricultural constructions, and marine applications. Over time, more applications have emerged, such as pole houses, glued-laminated timber beams with the WOPAS concept, foundations, and other building components.

WOPAS AS is a subsidiary of Hallingplast AS, a family-owned company established in 1969 and currently operated by the second and third generations of the Tragethon family. Hallingplast AS enjoys a strong reputation in the market with an annual turnover of approximately 800 million NOK.
